FODMAP Free for Foodies is a lifestyle site dedicated to IBS and FGID sufferers and others with food intolerances, providing them with recipes, information, resources and tips so they can be foodies again.
The majority of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) sufferers find relief when they discover the FODMAP approach to eating. Studies show that 65-80% of IBS sufferers adopting the program experience noticeable improvements. Research also indicates that other functional gastrointestinal disorder (FGID) may benefit as well. But unfortunately, “low FODMAP” often means eliminating many favorite foods (even almost entire cuisines) and being subjected to a rather limited and boring diet for life. For foodies, that means being robbed of one of life’s greatest joys – seeking wonderful food experiences.
As a food enthusiast who is severely intolerant of ALL five elements of FODMAPs, I discovered ways to “cheat” the system by cooking and seasoning differently. I wanted to share my learnings and experiences with other FODMAPer foodies who want to enjoy a variety of fabulous dishes, without suffering the consequences.
